Marisa Marcantonio

Founder, Stylebeat

Marisa Marcantonio has been involved in nearly all aspects of the interior design industry during the past decade. Since graduating from Trinity College with a B.A. in art history, she has worked as a style editor for House Beautiful and O at Home. Tracking trends in home furnishings and accessories, advising designers on strategic partnerships through branding and marketing, following new home décor shops and companies, Marcantonio seeks out what’s next. In addition to her magazine work, she has also worked for Scalamandre fabrics and interior designers David Easton and David Kleinberg. In June 2007, she launched the blog www.stylebeat.blogspot.com to share design trends in a more immediate and personal way. Updated daily, it provides an insider's point of view on traditional decorating, existing and emerging design talent, and news on books, events, and chic new products. In addition to writing her blog and engaging readers with social media, Marcantonio launched www.godesigngo.com, the blog for the Cohen Design Centers. Currently, she is a consultant with Gilt Groupe Home and creative design companies. She serves as a Contributing Editor to Editor at Large, the project and product online archive of the interior design community, has taught at the New York School of Interior Design, and volunteers for Kips Bay and their annual showhouse. She lives in New York City.

Collects: I love things that have a bit of quirk that add visual interest to a room. It could be using an outrageous color in an unusual way, placing a piece somewhere unexpected, or using an item functionally in a non-intended way. Great accessories, personal touches, tons of books, gleaming surfaces and shimmery lighting make a room sparkle and say home.
