You might try calling the dealer that listed the item; in the current economy, they could be willing to bargain. If that doesn’t work, try searching the modern design site VandM.com, which carries pieces by well-known designers similar to those on 1stdibs but usually at slightly lower prices. A wood side table by Milo Baughman similar in style to one selling for $2,600 on 1stdibs, for instance, can be bought for $800 on VandM.
